Beng Mealea in Khmer means “lotus pond”, located 40 km east of the main group of temples at Angkor, Cambodia. Beng Mealea temple was built in middle of the 12th century in a the style of Angkor Wat.
Unrestored/collapsed galleries and towers was built of sandstone from local quarries. To completely explored the temple, we clambering through small and narrow spaces and along the roof tops.

Beng Mealea is best to visit in the afternoon with sufficient sunlight, the temple is heavily overgrown and only dappled light at best filters through the forest. We combined the visit of Beng Mealea with Kampong Phluk.

The Singapore River forms a central artery in Singapore’s densely packed Central Business District. The riverside is best accessed by MRT Raffles Place station (North-South/East-West Lines) and Clarke Quay station (North-East Line) stations, while the nearest station to the Marina district is City Hall station, connected by a long underground shopping mall to Suntec and the Esplanade.
