November 17th, 2009 by Jasz

Located on the same street of Hotel La Walon (Poppies Lane 1, Kuta Bali, Indonesia), cost less than SGD$25 which included a main dish for 6 of us + Bintang beers and drinks. The serving of the food was small but it was delicious and cheap!!

Travel to Cambodia [Part-5 ~ massage & foot reflexology]

November 2nd, 2009 by Jeff

Khmer massage and foot reflexology
After a tiring day exploring the wonders of Cambodia, going for a massage therapy became a “MUST” do for us every night before heading back to our guesthouse. There are quite a few massage parlours located near Pub street, during our 5 days stay in Siem Reap, we managed to try two of them, which is Dr. Feet and Madam One. Other than foot reflexology, we treated ourselves with traditional Cambodia massage – Khmer massage.

Dr.Feet foot reflexology ~ (Rating: 2/5 )

As you walk into this massage parlour, you will find the walls covered with signatures and comments written by past customers (ranging from Japanese, Taiwanese, Germans and etc.) who visited them. We tried it on our first night in Siem Reap and it was also our last visit. Paid USD5 for an hour of foot reflexology, the foot massage was not effective and some of us even felt that was merely a foot washing session. But from the writings on the wall, we found only positive comments, so it’s unfair for us to conclude that this massage parlour is lousy. Maybe the masseuses there are specialist in Khmer massage only?

Madam One Khmer massage & foot reflexology ~ (Rating: 4/5 )

Another massage centre near Pub street, the place we tried the Khmer massage on our second night and we instantly hook with Madam One! Khmer massage is similar to the traditional Thai massage, we managed to bargain down the price to USD4 for an hour of Khmer massage :D

We were brought to the second floor, with the help of few thin curtains to create two partitions with 3 beds each, how about the ladies that in our group? As expected, they were asked to changed just another side of the curtain behind me.

Masseuses works from our foot up to the head, so please make sure you have your leg washed before hand. But no doubt, Khmer massage is one of the best massage that I had tried before.
